All together for the comprehension to acknowledge something like this should really be possible, it assists with knowing the characteristics of music and the numerous utilizations for it. From the beginning of time some type of music has existed. Regardless of whether it is the thumping of the drums in the profound wildernesses of a tropical country, or the melodic recollections of the music you grew up with, music has consistently had a critical task to carry out. When considering the employments of music it becomes the researcher to comprehend the message that specific kinds of music hold inside themselves. It is typical to see individuals running down the road with iPod’s tied to their arms tuning in to what must be comprehended as ‘running music.’ At the point when the activity programs on the TV start their shows they for the most part start with some moderate music to help the competitor in an appropriate extending exercise before starting the thorough exercise that will flabbergast them, yet feeling great.â In a meeting by a female schoolmate with a twenty-multi year old substantial truck sales rep she learned: Music is only a piece of life. You live with it constantly so it’s extreme to decide what it intends to you. For certain individuals it’s a profound enthusiastic thing, for certain individuals it’s easygoing. I turn on the radio and it’s there toward the beginning of the day; it’s there when I drive in; it’s there when I drive out (Crafts, 109). Purposes behind tuning in to music has the same number of differences as there are kinds of it, however one thing is clear: it is logical in nature and it has a message. For instance, when your football crew scores a touchdown, the band won't play a three step dance, they are going to play something perky and energizing. A basic, yet compelling representation of this is the tune we learn as little youngsters. Peruse the accompanying verses and perceive how it affects you: ‘If you’re glad and you realize it applaud your hands.’ This is typically trailed by two applauds of the hands and gets youngsters energized. In progressively advanced terms: it actuates their brains and makes them move around. My point is this: without the utilization of any instrument, the tune will at present get youngsters energized. Why? Musicality. You put your correct foot in, you take your correct foot out, you put your correct foot in and you shake it about. These words likewise enact the vitality in the little kids. It is sound for them to be dynamic and if the melodies make them move about they are getting activity and consequently the beat of the music is utilized for wellbeing. Individuals are right now utilizing in-the-second music-production with beat instruments for the accompanying sorts of occasions:  ·Ã¢ â â â â â â ChildbirthBirthdaysWeddingsFunerals and Memorials  ·Ã¢ â â â â â â Private Parties FundraisersCorporate Trainings  ·Ã¢ â â â â â â Childrens Day CampsYouth-at-Risk Programs  ·Ã¢ â â â â â â School University ProgramsProfessional Conferences  ·Ã¢ â â â â â â Wellness FairsHealing CirclesMens and Womens Retreats  ·Ã¢ â â â â â â Well-Elderly ProgramsAssisted Living Centers  ·Ã¢ â â â â â â Retirement CommunitiesSenior Community Centers  ·Ã¢ â â â â â â Spiritual Gatherings CelebrationsMeditation Services  ·Ã¢ â â â â â â â Community Festivals of different kinds (circles4drumming.com). It tends to be the verses, yet it doe not need to be; it can basically be the essential musicality that alleviates or siphons the person up. John A. Carpente, MA, NRMT, CMT at the Rebecca Center for Music Therapy distributed a contextual analysis including a kid with various hindrances and how he had the option to assist him with imparting through music treatment. Music assumed a key job in restoring this kid into an individual who could convey on a level that recently was inconceivable. The declaration of his mom:  †¦ His dad and I were continually searching for a key to take advantage of Mikeys capacities. Also, with music treatment, I think we figured out how to move toward my children capacities. It is really one of only a handful scarcely any treatments that we think comes to Mikey. He began working with John last September. Mikey perceives John and plays melodic games with him. That is a major advance since he doesn't recognize numerous individuals. The unaided eye may not perceive any progressions in Mikey, however his Dad and I do. Rather than turning around aimlessly, he really moves to music. Also, only a few days ago, he took a can and played with it as a drum. It was so common, much the same as different children. Everything I could do was cry on the grounds that as opposed to seeing a hissy fit or an unusual play aptitude, I saw an average kidmy run of the mill kid. Music treatment is something that make an equivalent playing field forMikey, and for that I am appreciative (http://www.therebeccacenter.org/library/casestudy1.html). Music is a workmanship, so this brings another ruse of musings concerning craftsmanship when all is said in done. Individuals have been known to remain before an artistic creation or figure for a considerable length of time. Would they be able to think about life’s trials, ruminating, permitting some force the craftsmanship has on them to do what is required while they are there? What is similarly as intriguing is the level we comprehend different parts of life and how far we have missed the therapeutic properties of expressions of the human experience when all is said in done. Individuals will in general act abnormally when they are inferring some restorative answers through the mode of craftsmanship. For instance, romantic comedies is a classification of motion pictures that assists with building connections essentially in light of the fact that the male accomplice in a relationship is bound to watch one with his accomplice. While encountering the good and bad times of the film the connections on screen get thoroughly analyzed to the genuine relationship of the couple viewing the film. The study will be discussing the relevant business communication process maintained in Fatnemup Pty Ltd for facilitating the effective staff training procedures. H aving recognised the conceptualised ideas regarding the relevant business communication procedure, the preferable recommendations will be provided in this report. Important of Business Communication In this current business world, the establishment of the transparent communication skills is necessary. Robles (2012) implied that the effective business communication determines the proper performance parameter of the associates. Fatnemup Pty Ltd, the baby formula manufacturing company requires increasing the sales revenues by establishing an efficient customer supports. Therefore, it is necessary to train the existing staffs properly. The performance attributes of the staffs can determine the organisational profitability. It is essential for the staffs to be knowledgeable about the products or services, which are to be sold to the customers. Hence, they need proper training about the organisational policies and the product specifications. The human resource management plays a significant role in providing such training and deve lopment sessions to the internal staffs. However, it is important to recognise the proper communication process, as the staffs belong to the diversified cultural background. Establishment of the better interpersonal skills The business communication process is associated with several concerned areas, which have the significant impact on the organisational cultures. Interpersonal skills are important to communicate with the internal staffs during the training and development process. The maintenance of the proper interpersonal skills helps in interacting with people. The development of the interpersonal skills can bring changes in the teamwork management (Lievens Sackett 2012). In order to establish the proper interpersonal communication, it is required to convey the messages in an efficient way. Moreover, it is necessary to communicate transparently by using verbal and non-verbal communication. It is important to gather the different views perceived by the other staffs associated with the organisational functionalities. Such open-mindedness is beneficial to maintain credibility at workplace. The maintenance of the positive attitude is essential for managing the workforce within an organisation. Moreover, during the training session, the positive attitude of the management helps the staffs to be motivated and appreciated. A good interpersonal skill is concerned with the proper assertiveness. While working with the team, it is essential to recognise the difference between rights and wrongs and stand up for the justified reasons. Such assertiveness is also helpful to train the staffs in an effective way (Carbaugh, 2013). Communicating with proper manner helps in building the efficient interpersonal skills among the team members. It contributes the significant impacts for establishing a great organisational culture. Development of the effective interpersonal skills During the training session, it is important to keep the focus on the proper development of the interpersonal skills. In order to develop the effective interpersonal skills, it is required to concentrate on several areas. These concerned areas are described further: Effective verbal communication: The efficient verbal communication has to signify the clarity. During the training session, it is important to clarify the purpose of the training and other business functionalities. The maintenance of the clarity can create the efficient interpersonal relationship with the staffs. Non-verbal Communication: It is noticed that in many of the cases, the non-verbal communications are underestimated. The non-verbal communications depend on the proper actions, body language, and signs. It is noted that Fatnemup Pty Ltd deals with the Chinese clients. Hence, while dealing with such international clients, the staffs need to acquire the effective non-verbal communication skills to eliminate the language barriers. Accordingly, the training procedure needs to keep the focus on such action-based communication. Effective Listening: The two way communication is essential during a training session. An efficient communicator needs to be an effective listener at the first place. The staffs associated with the training process may present their ideas or concerns. It is required to listen to their concerns and present the acknowledgement (Lievens Sackett 2012). Questioning: Questions arise when there is an urge to learn something better. In most of the cases, the questions build upon effective listening. During a training session, the communicator needs to pay attention towards the questions that may come from the associated staffs. It will be effective enough make the staffs motivated. Effective Feedback providing: Providing the effective feedback in response to the training process is another most significant way of improving the interpersonal skills. By providing proper feedback, the communicators maintain the transparency. It helps in recognising the shortcomings and the limitation of the training process. The potentiality of the staffs can also be identified through such feedback process. The above discussion has been reflecting the effectiveness of maintaining the interpersonal skills in order to provide the proper training session to the staffs. The further section will be highlighting the importance of maintaining the intercultural communications during the training session. Effectiveness of Intercultural Communication The advancements of the technologies have provided the opportunities to promote the business in new geographic locations. It is noted that Fatnemup Pty Ltd has their Chinese clients. In such, regards, it is necessary to acquire several non-verbal communication skills to communicate with the intercultural clients. During the non-verbal behaviours, some of the areas are needed to be taken into account. Firstly, it is required to observe the eye contacts. The direct eye-contact indicates the assertiveness and the confidence of the speaker (Cheruvelil et al. 2014). The spontaneity and equality is communicated thorough exchanging glances. Another on-verbal communication used among the intercultural people is head nodding. Nodding the head is one sign of acknowledgement, which can appropriately be used during the intercultural communication (Carbaugh, 2013). Using the silence is another way of non-verbal communication, which defines the dissatisfaction. The proper gestures and expressions are also essential for expressing the proper body language. Using such non-verbal attributes is essential for the intercultural communication process. It is noted that the effective action-based gestures for intercultural communication ensures the proper business dealings. The staffs can acquire such skills to communicate with the international clients. Moreover, it will bring the effective performance outcomes that can enhance the organisational productivity. Conclusion The effective performance attributes are the keys to achieve the organisational success. Due to such reasons, Fatnemup Pty Ltd is providing the training and development session to the internal staffs by maintaining the proper business communication skills. The establishment of the relevant interpersonal communication is required to make the staffs more knowledgeable about the business functionalities. In fact, it has been seen that the company has been dealing with the Chinese people who belong to the intercultural group. In such cases, the proper non-verbal gestures are needed to be adopted. Maintaining such criteria will ensure the business success in a significant way. Recommendation It is noted that the company has been dealing with the international clients. In most of the cases, the language barriers become the major obstacle during the business dealings. On the other hand, the effective performance attributes can bring the organisational success in a significant way. Therefore, the effective training session is provided to the staffs. In such training session, it is required to make the staffs knowledgeable about the proper communication process. The feedback providing session is much necessary for the management. If the information about the different training segments and progress is recorded, it will be better to monitor the performance report. The intercultural communication is necessary for each of the staffs. It is noted that the company has to deal with the marketing procedure. The staffs are required to be knowledgeable about the products or services that are needed to be offered. In many of the cases, the staffs need to communicate with the intercult ural business clients. Hence, it is important to acquire the proper skill of communications. The observation through body language, voice modulation, and other non-verbal skills is necessary while communicating with diversified cultured people. Hence, it is important to learn the proper communicative skills and listening attributes to understand the business procedure. In fact, it can be inferred that the maintenance of such business dealings, it will be better for the staffs to enhance their performance level and ensure the success for the future. In addition to this, the staffs can enhance the professional and personal attributes. References Carbaugh, D. (2013).Cultural communication and intercultural contact. Routledge. Cheruvelil, K. Pakistan Essays - Provinces Of Pakistan, Poverty In Pakistan

Pakistan My topic deals with Pakistan, its relationship with the IMF and World Bank, and its internal problems that are causing unemployment, poverty, economic crisis and hunger. I shall be analyzing the situation using the neo-classical theory, as it is what the economists of the Pakistan government and the IMF are using to alleviate the economic instability of the country. Situated in the sub-continent, Pakistan is a low-income country, with great promise for growth. Unfortunately, it is held back from reaching middle-income status by chronic problems like a rapidly growing population, sizable government deficits, a heavy dependence on foreign aid, recurrent governmental instability and large military expenditures. It is to address these fundamental faults in Pakistan's economy that the IMF has initiated the Structural Adjustment Programs (SAPs) in the country. This is discussed in further detail later in the paper. Like all developing countries, Pakistan's population is largely employed in the agricultural sector, which accounts for about 48 percent of the labor force. In today's world the Industrial and Service sectors are the largest growing areas of a developed county's economy. Yet Pakistan only employs 39 percent of its population in Service, and a minute 13 percent in Industry. This is a paltry figure, compared to the employment statistics of a developed country. Pakistan is also heavily dependent on a single export crop, cotton. Hence the country's fortunes rise and fall with the cotton market. It is no wonder that there are so many poverty stricken people in Pakistan. When almost half the population is involved in a very volatile market, a lot of the time, a lot of people will be burnt by price fluctuations. The country is also subject to the mercy of the weather. Focussing on a major cash crop means very little diversification. This translates to mass hunger and hard times for the agricultural sector whenever the agrarian lands are ravaged by floods, or conversely, by droughts. Even more importantly, Pakistan's agricultural sector is marked by large landowners, controlling most of the production. Hence, only a minimal amount of the profit from exports goes to the poor people working for the large farmers. It is these people who constitute a large portion of Pakistan's population. It is also these people who are living in abject poverty in the rural regions of the country, devoid of the right to feed their families. This is a great illustration of a theme discussed in "World Hunger, Twelve Myths.' Lappe, Collins, Rosset and Esparza discuss the commonly believed myths about why hunger and poverty exist. In it they clarify this very important point: hunger does not exist due to a shortage of available food, but because of ?fear' and ?powerlessness,' resulting in the ?anguish, grief and humiliation' felt by the hungry and poverty stricken. Pakistan is a classic example of this theory. Based on a feudal system, especially in agriculture, Pakistani society is primarily controlled by feudal overlords, (a.k.a. the politicians or relatives of politicians), who own or oversee most of the agrarian land and industrial base. Being above the law, due to their political influence, these corrupt people can literally get away with murder. Thus, keeping their laborers subdued and underpaid is no hard task. Anyone who dares to complain is used as an ?example' for potential future unrest. As a result, the people in their ?elakhas', (controlled lands), remain destitute in the throes of poverty, unable to help themselves due to their lack of power and the fear of the ?thekedars', (large landowners). By a lack of power, I refer not to a dearth of physical prowess but to a scarcity of basic human rights. These are the same rights that people in developed countries take for granted. The right to vote for whomever one feels like is missing. Instead a lot of villagers are forced to vote for the local land owner due to a combination of fear and ignorance; a fear of the repercussions of a potential loss by the feudal lord and the ignorance of any means to escape this same overlord's wrath. Very often there is also no choice of candidates. There are very few people willing to risk their own and their families' safety by running against their subjugators. All this goes against the very nature of the free market economy that Pakistan is supposed to be running. While the IMF and World Bank are using Neo Classical theory to address the nation's problems in the capital, half the country is still being run under the feudal system. Till this system is broken, and

Alive in Souls essays

Alive in Souls essays Rockn Roll is still alive!! It is belived that it died by the end of 1960s but it wasnt. The feelings, the ideas that Rockn Roll was representing are still living in peoples souls. Like freedom and sex. But it is hard to say that it is living as a type of music. Sounds of music changed too much from 1960s to nowadays. To understand Rockn Roll era, we have to define what is music. Music is the arrangement of sounds in pleasant tunes. But not only the well-combined tunes, it also has big effects on peoples minds, emotions and even on physical bodies. And this is the reason why the music is so important and effective on peoples lifes. Music represents so many ideas that have direct effects on peoples minds. Love, hate, war, peace, sex, freedom, religion... And I think it is the most important thing about music. It can easily affect people and it is the best way to do it. As a result music is more and more powerful and important than it seems. This makes sense why the music market is so huge and productive and why there is an evil race between the music companies to gain power of music in order to have more money, and America is the heart of this business from past to today. The America of fifties and sixties was too complicated. After the Second World War, America developed too fast as a victorious country. People who returned from war wanted a peaceful life. As a result monotonous life period started in America. Everything was same, ordinary and under control by state, entertainment, church and capitalism. People were sleeping like sheeps and saw a perfect America dream. And the powers, which controlled the society, never wanted something or somebody awaken them. But some people were in opposition to this life. They wanted something more exciting and freer. Due to that they started to look for their real personal identities. In this point music had a big role. Music, Rock ...

Contextual analysis Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Contextual analysis - Essay Example The sound of water saturates the entire film as well as its soundtrack. Incidentally, the delicate sound of bath water that softly drips from a visibly long, wet hair could only be comparable to the waterfalls at Niagara (Gopnik 2). The story winds in and out in a manner likened to the temporal Mobius strip. The film is generally about two women. One woman is relative young and eager whereas the other one is older and reserved. The two women are ostensibly going about their day-to-day routine and activities. Incidentally, the visitor is pondering just in case the two women are really one. Thesis Statement: While the artist has effectively used the audio-video platform to underscore the lives and attributes of two women characters that are at different stages of their lives, I believe that the representation of water is satisfactory evidence to prove that the two women are the same though portrayed in different parts or stages of their lives. The artist has effectively intertwined the lives and daily routines of the two women in a way that suggests their past successfully shaped their present. In the same way, the experience alongside currents of time shaped their past. In essence, remembering is evidently a creative way since it is obviously difficult to recall that past completely (Connors 4). Apart from the theme of water, Tan’s film also reflects the aspects of isolation, dislocation and loss. The double projection employed by the artist display the older woman reminiscing about her youthful life. The film moves back and forth in attempt to show life in the past and present. Commissioned by Vancouver Art gallery, the film simultaneously displays the video recording of flowing water (Connors 4). The flow of water apparently dominates the film and soundtrack thereby giving an impression of the memory flow and time. It is imperative to emphasize that the two women are at different stages of their lives. Figure 1 Figure 2 While the younger woman is still eager and ambitious to accomplish many of her dreams in life, the older one could only recollect the good moments and difficulties of her young life. Life to the young woman is vast with opportunities and aspirations bother in the short term and long term (Piturro 10). The piece demonstrates the kinds of historical, social, cultural relationships that human beings carry within themselves as they progress in life from childhood to adulthood and finally old age. The older woman is reticent, a sign that she perhaps feel content with the various achievements she has made in life. She credibly thinks it is time to reflect on the successes and disappointments of life because the strength and vigor is long gone (Piturro 10). In contrast, the young woman has numerous ambitions she intends to achieve in the near future. Furthermore, she evidently has the power, strength, vigor and determination to realize her dreams. The movie Rise and Fall examines the retrospective gaze along with its rela tionship to several images that people carry that are reflective of their social, cultural and historical dynamism. It is clearly intricate to tell whether the two women in fact represent a single woman at different points in life (Connors 4). What is very logical in the video is that their ages are contrasting. However, Tan lets the viewers acquire adequate account of their daily rituals. For

Monopoly Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Monopoly - Assignment Example Industries consume approximately 20%. Other than the effects of global warming, there is an emerging trend of water privatization by corporations. The private sector is providing water for profit basis. As a result, there has been a lot of destruction of water reservoirs in the ecosystem (Kalpakian 174). The global water crisis has resulted in tension in countries having a shared water system. Several countries striving for economic growth compete in claiming water sources leading to rivalry. In south Asia, the Ganges and Indus River are causing tension between India, Pakistan and Bangladesh (Kalpakian 176). Both Pakistan and India are constructing hydroelectric plant along Kishanganga River. Pakistan is weary that the Indian dams will inhibit adequate water flow to their site. This dispute between Pakistan and India has led to Pakistanis militant killing over 100 Indians. Water is important to both these nations. For Pakistan, the populous country relies on irrigation while India has many hydroelectric projects that are involved in harnessing electricity for industrial use. Moreover, in central Asia, there are also water disputes between Afghanistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan who are fighting for control of the Syr Daria and Amu Daria Rivers. The Nile basin is also on dispute. The other Nile countries want a share of the Nile, which is currently in the control of Sudan and Egypt (Kalpakian 176). The tension arising in several countries because of competition of water poses a challenge. UNESCO advocates for non-confrontation resolution of conflicts. In addition, it advocates for the communal philosophy (Lee 231). This dispute resolution approach encourages the stakeholders of a common water source to come together in managing and development of that source. Mechanisms of conflict resolution regarding the water source are vital too. UNESCO dispute resolution in water conflict advocates for

Modern Art Essay Example for Free

Modern Art Essay Some people consider modern arts not serious. In this regard, the question â€Å"Can we think of modern art as real art? † comes into existence. So to answer to this question we need to take for consideration what is art in general and what forms it has. There are a variety of arts, including visual arts and design, decorative arts, plastic arts and the performing arts. So, Art is defined as the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination. And artistic expression takes many forms: painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, music, literature, and architecture are the most widely recognized forms. To begin with, when we speak about modern art, in most cases we think about the field of fine arts. Because exactly fine arts underwent the visible changes for centuries. The number of styles of painting is enormous. Artistic works can be grouped by styles according to the common principles of creative thinking. Each epoch is characterized by a certain worldview; that is why throughout the centuries the ways of thinking about art was also changing. Fine arts faced such styles as Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism, Realism, Impressionism and so on. Modern art refers to works produced during the period from 1870. Typically, modern artists rejected previous Renaissance-based traditions, in favour of new forms of artistic experimentation. They used new materials, new techniques of painting, and developed new theories about how art should reflect the perceived world. And nowadays there exists a great amount of styles of Modern art, for example: Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art, Performance Art, Dada Style, Neoplasticism, Surrealist Style, Postminimalism, Graffiti Art, etc. Concerning the question of modern art it’s quite difficult to judge, but nevertheless people are divided into two sides: pros and cons. First and foremost art implies the inseparability of form and content and of course talent. Famous artists affirmed that it is necessary to master the skill the main component of the art. But many modern works have lack of this component. Modern art has no its purpose to create the artistic work, that is why modern artists are indifferent to internal connection of form and content. Therefore it is impossible without accompanying comment; for example the artist can grab a canvas, paint it in different colours and put some strokes on it, and this kind of painting can represent his happiness. Because it is often said that modern art can be done without any talent or efforts. After all real art needs to show emotion, beauty, and needs to be a window to the artists  emotions. Art is something that you see and must look deeply into to understand or find beauty in. Modern art is art that a 5 year old can do so it has too little effort to be considered art. Many people believe that such so called artists are supported by the mass media, that is why their works are sold for million dollars. Every person could take a brush and do smth like that, but no one would buy this daub. They say Leonardo was a great artist. Raphael was a great artist, but modern ones can’t be compared. So for the great majority of people modern art is not serious. On the other hand, who is anyone to judge what real art is? After all our understanding of art comes to nothing more than our school knowledge about periods of Renaissance, Classicism or Modern. Just because one doesnt like or understand the art, doesnt mean that the art is not real art. Besides, it should be noted that there is the term contemporary art, meaning the work of artists of the 90-ies of XX century. It represents the mirror of contemporary world. And often great

Ablutophobia: The Fear of Washing and Bathing :: essays research papers fc

Ablutophobia The Fear of Washing or Bathing   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ablutophobia, defined as the fear of washing, bathing and cleaning is an intense fear that poses no or little danger. Just thinking about bathing could cause a number of symptoms such as: breathlessness, dizziness, excessive sweating, nausea, dry mouth, feeling sick, shaking, heart palpitations, inability to speak or think clearly, a fear of dying, becoming mad or losing control, a sensation of detachment from reality or even an anxiety attack. Most people who are suffering from the phobia are surprised when they find out that they aren’t alone. Ablutophobia is surprisingly common. It is caused by the mind as a protective mechanism. From some point in the past there was a traumatic event linking with washing, bathing or cleaning. It could have also been formed from a realistic scare or even from movies, TV or seeing someone else experience trauma. Some people who suffer experience it all the time and some others experience it in just direct situations.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Not only does it effect your health and quality of life but, Ablutophobia can have a severe effect on anyone that works or is in school; living with the fear can make it hard to concentrate on something and fully give your best. Ablutophobia can cause a loss of tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars over the course of your lifetime due to lost opportunities, poor performance or grades, or promotions that pass you by.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  There are two different treatments for Ablutophobia; the ever popular temporarily suppress the phobia with potent, prescribed medicine, and therapy, self-help treatment.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   The medicinal treatment of Ablutophobia is only a temporary treatment to cover up the fear or make the person think that they are being medicated to not be scared anymore. The therapy treatment is more common and there are a few different therapeutic treatments. One is working with a practitioner to train the unconscious mind to connect different, positive feelings with the situation that triggers the phobia. After this you can stop the root of the fear of cleaning, bathing and washing. Another way is through a one day or sometimes, but rarely, a 1-6 day treatment program. Since I could not find a case study of a patient I added a psychologist specializing in phobias discovery that is quoted from one of my sources.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã¢â‚¬Å"A few years ago a scientist specializing in phobias like Ablutophobia made an amazing discovery.

Gender stereotypes are still pervasive in our culture Essay

TOPIC AND RATIONALE Gender stereotyping is a topic we find all around us and without exception in early years settings. There is a set of notions about how girls/women and boys/men are expected to behave in society, therefore is very difficult not to transmit those ideas in Early Education. Often we find children which already have implemented a gender role and behave based on our assigned sex. I have chosen this subject because I am aware, as I have to deal with that every single day, of how gender stereotype affects people. I believe the best way to fight this issue is through education and promoting gender equality in early childhood settings. At my placement I have already seen several situations where girls dress in pink as they consider is their favorite color, draw and wish to be princesses and would like to be ballerinas when they grow up. Boys spend all the playground time playing football or using their imaginary gangs, dressing in dark colors or not allowing girls playing in the building construction area claiming that is not a game for them. Being personally affected and observing this conduct in young children at the childhood practice setting and in the nursery where I work, was my motivation to write about this interesting topic, which in some situations touch children subtlety, and in others can trigger a negative impact affecting in many ways their being. AIM AND OBJECTIVES My target is to find out if gender equality is promoted in early years settings. RELEVANT THEORIES AND APPROACHES to children’s learning and development and links with knowledge acquired through the HNC HOW TOPIC LINKS TO CHILDREN’S INDIVIDUAL NEEDS, RIGHTS, AND INTERESTS Gender Equality is at the core of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) which outlines in a few articles the relevance of the equality rights for all children independently of their gender. The Article 2 is directly related to the topic chosen and promotes non-discrimination. The Article 12 and 13 determinates the respect for the views of the child and their freedom of expression. Both of them encourage children to express their thoughts and feelings freely. Those right are important in the subject because their voices can be taken seriously if they feel affected by gender discrimination. The Articles 28 and 29 talk about rights and goals of education. Those articles promote education with the respect of the human rights including themselves, addressing gender discrimination and supporting equality among girls and boys. Finally, we have to have into consideration Article 4 which states that governments have to create systems and laws to promote and protect children rights, enabling all the above rights possible. Here a summary of the articles mentioned are shown: †¢ Article 2 – â€Å"The Convention applies to every child without discrimination, whatever their ethnicity, gender, religion, language, abilities or any other status, whatever they think or say, whatever their family background.† †¢ Article 12 – â€Å"Every child has the right to express their views, feelings, and wishes in all matters affecting them, and to have their views considered and taken seriously. This right applies at all times, for example during immigration proceedings, housing decisions or the child’s day-to-day home life.† †¢ Article 13 – â€Å"Every child must be free to express their thoughts and opinions and to access all kinds of information, as long as it is within the law.† †¢ Article 28 –â€Å"Every child has the right to an education. Primary education must be free and different forms of secondary education must be available to every child. Discipline in schools must respect children’s dignity and their rights. Richer countries must help poorer countries achieve this.† †¢ Article 29 – â€Å"Education must develop every child’s personality, talents, and abilities to the full. It must encourage the child’s respect for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment.† †¢ Article 4 – â€Å"Governments must do all they can to make sure every child can enjoy their rights by creating systems and passing laws that promote and protect children’s rights.†

Analysis Of Tattoos On The Heart, The Power Of Boundless...

Resilience is the power or the ability to return to the original form. â€Å"Resilience is born by grounding yourself in your own loveliness, hitting notes you thought were way out of your range† (94). Father Gregory Boyle says this because he knows that resilience is needed in order to change. Resilience is important because we can become better people by doing things, we thought we couldn’t do. In the book, Tattoos on the Heart, The Power of Boundless Compassion, by Father Gregory Boyle, resilience is essential in our lives because it is the key to do better. My brother, Osvaldo growing up was basically a teacher’s pet and someone I looked up to. He would get good grades, enough to get him Honor Roll and Principal’s Honor Roll. He was always a hard worker, but it all changed when he went to middle school. He was always getting into trouble. He would have to do a weekly reports of all his classes and then turn it in to the counselor. When he went to high school, he was enrolled at Nogales. He was doing okay in school, up until the ending of his freshman year. He was caught smoking near the band room with friends, but took all the blame. That cause a lot of problems because he was kicked out and then had a court case. He went to CDS (Community Day School), to finish off his sophomore year.
